Adoption is an act of unselfish, unconditional love on the part of the birth parents and adoptive parents.

Can't Picture Yourself Pregnant?

Many women would choose not to be pregnant at certain times in life. The idea of raising a child alone or disadvantaged, is not a comforting thought. You are not alone, and you do not have to make this decision by yourself. We at Christian Family Life Center would like you to consider, for at least the time it takes you to read this page, a different solution to your difficult situation.

Have you considered making an adoption plan for your child? We at CFLC view adoption as an act of unselfish, unconditional love on the part of the birth parents and the adoptive parents. There are two types of adoptions to consider, open and closed.

  • OPEN ADOPTION is when the birth parents and adoptive parents agree to maintain contact, allowing specified visitation. You have the option to choose the adoptive parents and even get to know them before the decision has been made. All adopting parents must meet the State of Missouri requirements set forth by the Department of Social Services Children's Division.
  • CLOSED ADOPTION means that there is no contact with the adoptive parents or child after the rights have been transferred. CFLC recognizes that the adoption process can be like wandering through an emotional maze. We have dedicated staff who are trained to address birth and adoptive parent issues, as well as child adjustment concerns. Confidential counseling is available in the areas of grief, separation, and life planning.

See Yourself Differently

Here are a few people who would not have been able to make contributions to the world if adoption had not been their parents' choice:

Faith Hill, entertainer
Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy's
George Washington Carver, inventor
Moses, leader of the Hebrew Nation
Jesus, Son of Mary, adopted by Joseph the Carpenter

Birth Mothers are the most important person in the adoption plan.

As a birth mother, you are the most important person in the adoption plan. Your unborn child's future depends on you. You have full power to construct a loving, caring environment in which your child can be nurtured. At CFLC, you have the right to choose the adoptive parents of your precious child. Making an adoption plan can be emotionally difficult. We are here to help you through the process.
