Adoption is an act of unselfish, unconditional love on the part of the birth parents and adoptive parents.
We have given you information about our adoption program that is very valuable. However, we would be remiss when we talk about the life of a child if we do not speak of the life giver, that being the God of this Creation who embodied Himself in the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
We want to remind you what Jesus Christ says about life: "The thief comes in the night to kill, steal, and destroy, but I have come to give life, and to give it more abundantly." (John 10:10)
What God says in Jeremiah 29:11 to his people, "I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
From David's song to God in Psalms 139:13-16: "You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body, and knit them together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! It is amazing to think about. Your workmanship is marvelous and how well I know it. You were there while I was being formed in utter seclusion! You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your Book!"
God loves His creation, including you, and He does not want you to merely exist, but to have life abundantly. In addition, God desires to have a personal relationship with you. Perhaps as you make your decision for adoption, or as you make an adoption plan for your unborn child, you have felt discouragement and fear, and possibly a feeling of betrayal from close friends or of life in general.
Please know that God is FOR you and not against you. He will help you and guide you. All life is important to God. YOU are important to God. Below is a simple prayer:
Dear God of all creation: You know me and my situation. The life of my child is important to You. You know my pain, my hurt and my disappointment. I am thankful that Your will is not to do me harm but to prosper me. I am thankful that You will forgive me, heal me and restore me. I ask You to be the perfect love in my life. Help me to get to know You better. Help me to make the right decisions in my life. Help me to learn of Your will for my life. Amen
If you have never invited God into your life, the God who came to this earth and incarnated himself in the body of Jesus, and you want Him to be a part of your life, here is a suggested prayer. He knows your heart:
Dear Jesus, I need you. I know that I have sinned against You because the Bible says in Romans 3:23 (NKJV), "for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God." I thank you that through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross that my sins are forgiven and atoned for through Jesus' resurrection, and that I can walk in total newness of life. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and cleansing me from all unrighteousness. I want to accept you as my Lord and Savior. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and teach me the truth in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
It says in the Bible, "If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it," (John 14:14 NKJV). If you ask anything according to God's will, He hears, and if you know that He hears you, then you have the petition that you desire of Him. Obtain a New Testament and start reading the Book of John. Read a chapter each day and ask God to reveal himself to you through His Word. He will.
